So I'd rather not have an overall 8mm-drop and ditched the insoles. The shoes come with a 4mm-drop insole, and the shoes themselves ie without insole have a 4mm-drop. The only downside is a watch-this-space around the insole. fit is ok, a bit tight across the width when using the supplied insoles - but see below the sole has a *much* better tread for trail running than the Hokas - chunky and deep treads I'm inevitably comparing with the Stinsons which are £50 more expensive, however high points for me are: I've yet to do a proper run (ie over 4 miles) in the Sketchers, but first impressions are good.
